We left Cambridge bright and early to make the journey to Wisbech. We were prepared that this may be a tough game as Wisbech were also in the top end of the table.
Both teams started off well and Nomads had lots of goal scoring opportunities. A multitude of attacking short corners were saved by some good goalkeeping from the opposition. Some
great passing and unit play was validated when a powerful strike from Flip rebounded off the defender’s stick and sweetly hit the backboard. Wisbech looked dangerous on the counterattack but with some excellent team defending we were able to end the first half at 1-0 Nomads.
Nomads started the second half well and continued to string passes together towards goal. An attacking short was cleanly injected and after a few rebounds fell to Ellie - who flicked the ball just past the keeper’s left hand. Nomads continued to create good opportunities and managed to keep Wisbech from scoring. The game ended with a 2-0 win - meaning 4/4 for the L1s!! Player of the match went to Charlotte A for her fantastic work in midfield!
