Nomads ladies 1's played Spalding at home for the first game of the day, in miserable wet and grey conditions the team struggled to get into their usual warm up routine and this was evident in the first half of the game, as both the teams struggled to keep possession with rapid turnovers seen. The first half ended 0-0 and Nomads were confident that they would go out strong the second half and be able to pick up the game. From the whistle the girls stepped up the pace, the use of space across the pitch was utilised well and some lovely unit play meant Nomads had the majority of the possession for the second half of the match - however despite multiple shots on goal from several members of the squad, Spalding continued defending really well until the final and kept Nomads off the score sheet. Both teams walked away with a point in the no score draw. Player of the match went to Liz Freeman for second week in a row; excellent work in the middle field, with attacking leads and great work off the ball to support her team mates.
