Well, not the way we wanted to win the tournament, but we got to the top nevertheless. Earlier in the week Long Sutton 3s conceded the match to avoid coming down South for another humiliating defeat after their last encounter against us where they lost 9-0. Interestingly, their 2nd team today defeated Ely 2s 9-1 in div 4NW to secure top spot, probably benefiting from all those extra players. We will be playing against that team next year.
Other interesting results today includes our league rivals St. Ives 4s losing to Kettering 4s 3-1, which means we now have loads of daylight before our last league match against them next week.
With nothing to lose in our last match I look forward to a an enjoyable game of hockey and a cold bottle of champagne regardless of the result!
Well done Nomads 3s!
