Nomads started strong and eager with fast pace and scoring the first goal within the first 5 minutes. Textbook hockey with 3 connected passes from our 16 to find the skipper, Temoc Rodriguez, at the top of the D who put it away. This must have been a wake up call as St. Neots then stepped up their game and started protecting the ball better and opening gaps in the Nomads defense. Eventually they found a break and with our midfield unable to recover they had an overload to score. Then they scored a second goal before half time.
In the second half Nomads readjusted and started putting more pressure on the opposition, eventually wining a short corner which Richard Lloyd scored confidently. The match was fairly contested for most of the rest of the second half but it was St. Neots who scored again and forced Nomads to go all in for the last 10 mins to try to level. Nomads won another short corner and after a few rebounds a shot found an opposition foot on the goal line and a stroke was awarded. Stephen Hodson put that away to salvage a point.
