The Men’s 1s bounced back with a win against Peterborough in another tricky game at Coldham’s. The first half got off to a slow start and it was still 0-0 at the break, with neither team creating any real chances. The pace picked up in the second half, and it was Peterborough who took the lead when a cross from the right found a man unmarked at the back post.
It took us a while to get back into the game, but once we did, the result was never in doubt. Martin grabbed the equalizer through a drag flick low to the keeper’s left, and Freddie put us in front soon after. We worked the ball wide on the right, found Freddie on the baseline, and he tucked the ball between the keeper and the near post. The victory was secured by Joe’s penalty corner straight strike - his first goal for Nomads.
MoM: Freddie - a constant threat in and around the Peterborough circle, and scored the best goal of the day
DoD: Joe - “Straight back to you”: a lovely, no-look, disguised pass back to Freddie. Who wasn’t there anymore.
