Arthur Mellowed by Martin's double

Another close game but another three points in the bag for the Men’s 1s to make it four wins from four! It was an end-to-end game that wasn’t entirely suited to a windy, sunny, and unseasonably warm October day.

We went ahead midway through the first half when Dave’s through ball found Martin on the baseline, who pulled back for Rich to knock home. Martin doubled our lead just after half time with a smart finish after being played in by AJ.

Bourne had looked dangerous on the attack - at times playing with four upfront - and although Ethan made some vital saves in the first half, he wasn’t able to keep out a penalty corner that made it 2-1.

Not long after, Martin made it 3-1 with a drag flick into the top corner from a penalty corner, before Bourne pulled another back through a deflection. There were a few hairy moments in the final minutes, but once again we held on to our lead until the final whistle!
