Nomads start league season on the front foot

Cambridge Nomads Men’s 1s got off to the perfect start to the season with a hard-fought 1-0 win at St. Ives. Rich Davies, Dave, and Moritz made their competitive Nomads debuts, and Martin started in midfield for a new look Nomads 1s side.

It was an open match but without many clear-cut chances for either side. Rich Lloyd grabbed the only goal just after the break, finishing from a tight angle after the St. Ives’ defence gave away possession in their own half.

Ultimately, the day belonged to our back five, who gave us our first clean sheet in 8 games and earned the three points!
