After 3 tough defeats in February, we finally picked up a win away at Wisbech 2s. As the scoreline suggests, this was an end-to-end and open game with plenty of chances.

We started very brightly, but it was Wisbech who opened the scoring from a penalty corner. But we were quick to strike back through a penalty corner of our own deflected in by Murray from in front of the keeper.

Wisbech re-established their lead with a goal on the break, but again we responded in type with a counterattack of our own; Joe carried the ball down the left and put in a cross for Jack to tap in at the back post.

Murray’s second goal - another penalty corner deflection - gave us the lead for the first time in the match, and he grabbed his hat trick before half time, capitalizing on hesitant Wisbech defending and tapping the ball home. 4-2.

Wisbech pulled one back after the break, but we once again countered right back: Sam found Jack unmarked in the circle, and his wayward shot found Murray for a simple goal.

Joe had quietly gone about setting up 4 goals, and he finally scored one himself when he rounded the keeper and finished from a tight angle.

Our lead was never in doubt from there, and although Wisbech managed to grab a fourth with the last touch of the game, we saw out the last 10 minutes comfortably to take the points home to Cambridge.
