To sum up this match in one sentence; a clean sheet, 3 points, and a game that won’t live long in the memory.

Our last visit to St Ives in January came in the depths of our worst run of the season and ended with the debrief being given to the team sat cross-legged on the pitch in the style of Phil Brown’s Hull City. This time we arrived in better form - and with more players - and left in a better mood.

The opener came early in the first half. A cross from out wide, Mel got a deft touch to guide the ball past St Ives’ sticks, and Arthur finished from a few yards out. We could’ve added plenty more goals, but whether through misplaced final passes or good goalkeeping, we made it to the break only 1 goal up.

St Ives had created a few chances of their own and, although Dan didn’t have a save to make all game, we knew that we needed to add 1 or 2 more goals to give ourselves breathing room.

Our second arrived 10 minutes into the half when Jack finished off a penalty corner routine. From there on out, the second half resembled the first: lots of Nomads chances but none quite finding the net (or finding the net but being ruled out). In the end a comfortable win.
