Our U12 boys played their first league fixtures on Saturday against tough opposition from various clubs with the following results:
City Red 2-2
City White 1-1
South 2 0-0
South 1 1-2
Peterborough 0-0
Newmarket 0-0
St Neots 0-4
Which makes it 4 draws and 2 loses. This is actually a very good results for a team that has not had much match experience compared to the other clubs. As always there is room for improvement and the more hockey matches they play, the better they will get.
Players were mostly a bit off-the-pace in the first game, but after that showed some real determination in defending, particularly against Peterborough, who were a much better team and Newmarket who played a deliberate long-ball game with a couple of kids at the back who could whack it.
A big shout to Oli Hodsdon for scoring all the Nomads goals and to those who volunteered to play in goal, which is never easy in this close matches.
Well done everyone!
