U14 mixed team in action

Boys and girls from the U14 and a couple from the U12 teams joined forces to face Ely, March, and Wisbech with the following results:
Nomads 1 – 1 Ely B
Nomads 2 – 4 Ely A
Nomads 0 – 2 Wisbech
Nomads 0 – 2 March

Boys and girls showed some goods spells of hockey but more often than not were caught unprepared on the counterattacks, with our star goalkeeper Luis making some incredible saves. Special mention to Connie Cotton who was voted best Nomads player by the other teams. Connie showed great spirit supporting players and fighting hard every second she was on the pitch. Well done to our U12 girls Lucy and Izzy for stepping up to bigger hockey and holding their ground really well.

Getting more exposure to competitive hockey has certainly helped with pitch awareness and understanding of how to move the ball better. The team’s performance improved match after match. We have a few more tournaments lined up for the rest of the season, so hopefully we can keep that trend.
