Nomads Two lose their final match of the season to already-promoted Louth. However, we had a winning second half and secure mid table finish to the se

On a beautiful sunny afternoon at Coldhams, faraway visitors trekked down from Louth via team minibus. Louth had already secured their promotion from 4 NW. Their young and competent side demonstrated good hockey and, after 35 minutes, were 4-0. However, it wasn't one way traffic with good Nomadic play and some opportunities coming at the other end. Ellis was suffered an injury which left him fairly immobile. Fortunately, he clung on until the cavalry (in the form of Dan Jarvis!) arrived in the second half.

Nomads won the second half 2-1. Goals came from a drag flick short corner from Dan Jarvis into the top right, glancing off the goalie's glove. Once again, Sam Walsh netted competently from a great maneouver including Dan and Ben which started with a turn-over on the half way line. Full credit to our defensive pair of Barry & Tim once again. Barry was frequently to be seen crushing another Louth attack and marching out of our 25, with the ball on the end of his stick and laying it off perfectly to commence a Nomads counter-attack. Ethan made a couple of critical saves. Jack notched another superb performance up front and really was the engine for our attack for the whole game.

Nomads Twos finish in 6th place at the end of the season – see league table. Thanks for all the hockey everyone. See you at the Club Dinner on Saturday. Summer hockey starts on Thursday evenings 7-8pm from 5th June.
