Twos take a road trip to Lincolnshire and suffer a 4-0 loss.

In one of our three major expeditions this season, a Nomadic band of players gathered at the squash club at an early hour to venture to edge of the known universe. Ethan came armed with provisions, unsure whether civilization had reached that far north – were these northern people familiar with hard round objects and artificial turf? After an hour and a bit, we stopped at the half way point to refuel at McDonalds and Ethan ceased his consumption of chocolate briefly. Dan & Jack decided against having a second (or third) McMuffin breakfast, having already visited the Newmarket Road branch previously that morning.

As the side unfurled themselves from cars, we were pleased to see Ed who had made a similarly monumental trip from Norwich the evening before.

Louth proved to be a side similar to our own - a mixture of youth and experience. They were effective at going forward, but Nomads had a number of chances, most probably the best falling to Arthur at the top of the D which was shanked wide. Jordan suffered a foot injury at the mid point in the first half, which severely limited his mobility. Nomads played a tighter second half with Sam having the best of a couple of half chances.

The end result was a 4-0 loss. Fortunately, the showers were hot and copious spread of food at the pub in the middle of town cheered us up before the long drive home.

With the first half of the season complete, Nomads Two results are: played 11, won 5, lost 6; Goals for 36, goals against 26.

We sit in the middle of a bunched table at joint 5th position: 4 points separate 7 teams. Next weekend is a slip weekend before the we restart the second half of our campaign.
