Senior members of the Nomads had a little difficulty of locating their St Ives' new ground - old habits die hard - but it was a lovely, new pitch!
It was, as the expression goes, a game of two halves. St Ives won the first half 4-0 and looked to be coasting home. Their centre forward, although he looked untidy, had a deft first touch.
At half-time, we made some positional change and Tim gave us a sterling motivational speech. The result? Nomads played some nice hockey in the middle of the park using short passes to move ball deftly between players.
We won the second half the second half 2-1. Our first goal was a nicely worked manoeuvre which saw a series of two touch passes from the 23m line, ending with Jack on the p-spot who slotted in nicely. The second goal was an own goal from Arthur's short corner strike via a St Ives defender who perfectly deflected the ball home from 3 yards out.
