Saturday saw the second half of the season commencing in Men's North West 3 division (see league table). Newmarket handed a 10-1 spanking in the first game of the season and showed no remorse in handing out punishment to the tune of 8-0 away at Newmarket Leisure Centre.
Our team is suffering from a long list of injuries - with some key players missing. Tim Fieth suffered a crushing tackle and was a long time getting up off the turf and shortly subbed him off. His absence made a huge different - particularly in the final quarter, Newmarket was tearing through the midfield constantly threatening Nomads' goal.... with inevitable results. John Stephenson, between the sticks, made some fine saves.
With the temperature dropping and the pitch becoming increasingly slippery, the game was abandoned with less than 10 minutes to spare - saving further injuries and (probably) further Newmarket damage.
