Nomads Twos open with a draw against St Ives

A deliberately early meet time was set - to get our heads on for the first game of the season. Unfortunately, our preparation consisted of sitting in traffic on the A14. St Ives were kind enough to give us a couple of minutes to get all eleven of us on the pitch.

St Ives put out a useful team - excellent defensive marking gave us little opportunity to create opportunity in the last 23m. They had the better first half and scored. In the second half, we turned the tide and had managed to get the measure of them, with cracks starting to show. Notably Doug Buisson had a couple of searing runs from left back.

Our retaliation came from a straight strike short corner, hit in by Barry (old school style) and clonked home by Arthur from the top in the last 10 minutes.

A fair start to the season and congrats to Ruben for making his Twos debut, but looking at other results, there will be sterner tests ahead.
