Nomads' 11 faced 14 men from Cam South. The game started a brisk pace with good play. South proved to be a well-drilled side - their defensive press was excellent and hampered Nomads throughout the game. Nomads went one goal down. Nomads' best opportunities came from speedy ball movement down the right hand side of the pitch. Nomads only goal came from such a manoeuvre: quick passes from Ellis on the right to Josh in the corner to Arthur heading towards goal who found Sugi on the P spot to convert.
Then, Tim running first out against a South penalty corner, was hit on the jaw from wild strike. See photo – the bruise continued to ripen during the second half (and beyond I’m told!). With only 11 men, Tim continued on after treatment from the medical bag and played a fantastic game.
At half time, the Nomads were level, but as the second half played out, South’s superior numbers provided the fresher legs to gain the edge and score two further goals. Spence suffered a hamstring injury which left him walking with a limp, never mind running.
Nomads can be proud of the performance that they put in and Tim easily won Man of the Match (even without the sympathy vote!).
