Nomads squeak a victory at the final whistle even though we were 4-1 up at half time

Wisbech arrived at Coldhams with only 10 men. Nomads set their tactics to play around Wisbech defence. For the first 10 minutes, the opposition didn't cross into Nomads territory with the ball.

Then there was in the incident of the PRESIDENTIAL GOAL– the moment of the season! Seth injected the short corner to Spence stopping. Moots fired at goal which the goal keeper parried. The ball fell to the President who was stepping in from injecting. He whizzed the ball across the front of the goal. Kindly, the defender kicked the ball, over the goal line. The crowd went wild. - whoopin' and hollerin' could be heard in the car park and the three-year presidential dry season is officially over!

The dominance continued with Ed and Moots bossing the midfield beautifully. Jonty hit the backline and passed the ball perfectly to Sugi just in front of the keeper's padwho found the backboards. Nomads' third was competently dispatched by Ellis from Spence. Wisbech scored on a fast break. Sugi followed Jonty's textbook technique of hitting the back line: he committed the defence and found Josh 10 yards out and who bashed the ball competently against the backboards.

4-1 at halfway. Wisbech came back, scoring one from open play. John made a spectacular save diving low to his left to push the ball around the post from a short range deflection. Spence scored from a short corner strike which took a slight deflection from the first runner. Wiz shorted from a short corner routine. Barry unfortunately took a ball on the foot, requiring Arthur to step off the subs bench. Therein their centre forward had a fast break which found bottom corner .

With the clock ticking down, Nomads held on to secure a 5-4 which made our opposition look better than we should have let them. Morty, acting as a umpire, found himself numerically struggling and accidentally declared a draw. Fortunately, he was Germanically overruled with superior counting ability!!
