2-0 victory against the auld enemy means that Nomads beat City twice this season AND go within two points of the league leaders. Dare we dream??

The last derby between Nomads and City resulted in a thrilling 5-4 win. This encounter didn't match that one for excitement, but to do the double was indeed momentous.

On average, the City players were younger and fitter, but Nomads shut them out with superior hustle on and off the ball. Within the first 15 minutes, Nomads first goal came from a short corner: Arthur's straight strike took a slight deflection from the first runner to squeeze between the goalkeeper's pads.

For most of the game, Nomads had territorial advantage - particularly so in the second half with sterling work from returning Tim in the middle of park. Not that the defence had nothing to do: John was called upon put to shut down one or two City attacks, which done with aplomb. Spence took great delight in stripping attackers of the ball with his reverse stick, in particularly at critical moments - a masterclass demonstration, if ever there was!

Rajen will able to use the comments section below to fully articulate how he managed to avoid netting the ball, on three close range shooting attempts after Arthur's shot left the keeper struggling. Pads, pads, post, I believe, Raj?!?

Nomads' second and final goal came from a beautiful turn from Sugi on the top of the D which outclassed his defender. Mikey Longston stepped in, poached the ball from Sugi's glory to hammer home.

Two-nil - a sweet result and delightful viewing if you check out the league table!
