Nomads Twos win nine goal thriller against Cambridge City

Nomads 'selection' was a right old fight across the three teams this week due to poor availability and lots of injuries. Credit to debutant, Chris Snow, for putting his first appearance for the Twos - we anticipate many more to come.

As always with the Cambridge derby against City, there was much pride to play for.

City scored first. Nomads short corner routine fired with Paul's straight strike bouncing back to him for him to dispatch a flick to the goalie's left. Matthew Huchu scored the second goal, following good work from Paul's stick.

The third goal came as a result of Jez passing the ball from the middle to Julian West on the edge of the D. A swift turn followed by a crisp clip hit resulted in the lovely dud-dud sound of the ball hitting the side board and the back board.

City pulled one back before the half time whistle.

Paul scored his second with a 1-2 with Rick in the D to outnumber City defence and goalkeeper. Later, he completed his hat-trick with a short corner strike.

City pulled one back with an overload in the final minutes, but Nomads held on to make it a 5-4 win - and not the first time only a single score as settled a Cambridge derby.

MoM: Julian for putting in lots of great work in the middle of the park and cracking home a lovely strike strike from the top of the D.
