Cambridge Nomads' Men's 2nd XI produced one of their best halves of hockey in recent memory to destroy Bourne Deeping M2s on Saturday.
Trailing 1-0 to a well struck penalty corner at half-time, but feeling that they were playing well, Nomads came out in the 2nd half and scored 6 unanswered goals.
George Silcock opened the floodgates with a piece of class, as he played one-two with Rick Mort on the Deeping 25, before surging into the D and placing a reverse hit just inside the post from an airborne, horizontal position (see below).

With Nomads now completely dominant and confident, the second quickly followed as Tim Fieth and Max Standing combined masterfully in the D for Max to finish at the end of a flowing move.
Tails-up, Nomads continued bursting forward and the goals followed at steady intervals. Zinny Longson grabbed a brace, one of them to finish off a fine team goal from quick passing throughout the pitch.
Two short corner finishes in a row - a meaty strike into the corner from Paul Matthews, and a tap in at the far-post for Sugi Furuta completed the proceedings.
The first half had felt a bit like deja vu for the team - as per previous week's playing with greater possession of the ball but going a goal-down to the opposition's first foray into our D.
Talk at half-time was about being patient and passing the ball round the keeper. Amazingly, the team actually listened and showed they can put a decent opposition to the sword. More of this please!
