It was sodden weather, late scheduled push back, made later by previous fixtures, but a sodden Long Road pitch actually played very nicely. There was lots of Nomadic pressure in the first half, but South converted a short corner, against the run of play.
In the second half, our first goal came from Zinny picking up a ball on the right hand outside of the D and whipping it into the P spot. Paul was on hand to hassle the keeper enough to have the ball rattle off both of his pads and for him to clonk in.
South's second goal came from an overload further up the pitch, which they exploited to goal.
With five minutes to go, we won a shortie: with text book execution by Zin and Arthur, Paul cracked it home beautifully to score his second of the match and sixth of the season. Obviously MoM.
This was a 2-2 draw, against familiar and friendly opposition. We would have been disappointed if we'd lost, but on reflection, it was a game that we dominated, particularly in the midfield - credit to Rick, Tim and Julian.
DoD goes to Felix for chatting to the umpire extensively.
